Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 783 in Rolling Hills Estates, California.
The Rolling Hills United Methodist Church was founded in 1960 and moved to its
current location on Crenshaw Blvd. in 1964. As an outreach to the
community, church leaders decided to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop, and Troop
783 was chartered in 1965. Since that time, hundreds of boys have had the
opportunity to participate in outdoor and community activities. The Troop has had
several Scouts earn the rank of Eagle, the highest level of achievement in
Scouting. This web site is for all Scouts and parents to keep them up to
date with the Troop's activities and events as well as supplying useful
information to assist the Scouts and parents through their Scouting journey.

November 18, 2008 -
Troop Meeting - 7:30PM - 8:45PM:
All Scouts are to be in complete uniform for all Troop meetings. We
will be starting promptly at 7:30 sharp. Please be there 10 minutes
before the meeting is to begin.
Instructors presenting: Map & Compass and Backpacking (in preparation for Catalina Backpack)
Merit Badge Instruction: Cycling.
Pack Check for Catalina Backpack - all scouts with less than 100 miles backpacked must bring their packs for inspection.

- Catalina Backpack. - Arrive at the Catalina Express, 320 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA at 6:45 am . Bring a sack lunch for Saturday and money for Sunday Lunch at Two Harbor. Saturday’s dinner and Sunday’s breakfast will be done with the patrols. |

- Green Bar Meeting / Jr. Leadership
Training- 7:30pm - 8:45pm:
All Scouts that hold leadership positions are to attend - no uniforms required - orange troop t-shirts only. If you can not attend for any reason please call Mr.
Ryan. Missing Green Bar Meetings and not calling means you are
not fulfilling the requirements of the leadership position and you
will not earn credit for your position. Leadership positions
include: SPL, ASPL, PL, APL, Scribe, Historian, Librarian, Quarter
Master, Chaplain's Aid, Troop Instructors, Den and Bugler.
All Assistant Scoutmasters are asked to attend also.

Firearms Safety Training Course.
Where: Los Angeles Police Department Shooting Range
2981 N. Gaffey Street, San Pedro, CA. From Church go east
to five points intersection turn right on Gaffey, go one mile to the large sign on the right side "San Pedro Girls Softball League" turn right into the
drive go all the way to the back of the property you will see a large
building on the right park adjacent to the building.
Uniform: Wear uniform, we will be having flag cermony.
Attendence: Attendence is strictly voluntarly.
